P4 and P5 visited Park Street Sheltered Housing Complex yesterday. We met some friends we made last year (Olive and Gladys) and some new friends too (Margaret, Bert, Bobbie). We sang some songs to them, read some poems, and then had a lovely singalong in some Doric/Scots’ language.
Happy Christmas everyone at Park Street – we will be in touch with Norma to arrange another visit very soon! Thank you for your hospitality and sharing your memories of Hanover Street School – swimming at the outdoor beach pool, etc – we learned lots:
- Eleanor learned that she likes talking to older people!
- Calvin learned that people can live as old as their 90s! (Gladys is 93 and FABULOUS!)
- Bert used to work where some children’s family worked
and most importantly
- it’s great to get to know people of other ages and backgrounds, develop patience and respect and to communicate and learn from each other!
