Moving On Youth Recruitment Event

Please see below for details of a youth recruitment event for school leavers and their parents/carers which is due to take place on Thursday 30th March. I found this notice on the Council’s website where I am sure they will post details of the companies taking part, nearer the time   Last year’s exhibitors included Stewart Milne Group, NHS Grampian, Aberdeen City Council, First Aberdeen Ltd and The Royal Navy.

Businesses invited to support youth recruitment event

Local businesses are being invited to participate in an Aberdeen youth recruitment event which will promote training, apprenticeships and employment opportunities for school-leavers.

Organisations which took part in last year’s the Moving On showcase recruited 54 individuals for apprentice opportunities, 9 full-time posts, 10 employability training participants and five for vocational training courses.

The event is hosted by Aberdeen City Council in partnership with Skills Development Scotland.

Aberdeen City Council Communities, Housing and Infrastructure vice-convener Councillor Gordon Graham said: “The city has a pool of young talent seeking to take early steps on the career ladder. If your organisation can help shape the workforce of the future we would encourage you to sign-up for what promises to be a fantastic event.

“Aberdeen is on an exciting transformational journey and the Council is working in partnership with local organisations to ensure a strong and vibrant economic future. Our young workforce is central to those aims and it is important to support the next generation.”

The Moving On event is being held at Aberdeen Town House, Town and County Hall, on Thursday 30 March from 12.30-7pm. It is part of Aberdeen Guarantees, a partnership initiative led by Aberdeen City Council aimed at improving opportunities for 14-25 year-olds.
