Sparkly lights and norwegian echoes…

Lt Helen Froud invited us to the switching on of the lights of the city’s Christmas tree at Castlegate, right next to our school!

Szymon, Ami, Tiffany and Jessie expertly supervised Miss Forbes and Mr Markey and spoke very well about their small display they put up in the Citadel, which was open for teas and coffees afterwards.

We learned that:

  • the tree comes from Norway as we are twinned with Stavanger.
  • the Lord Provost is Councillor Barney Crockett – who used to go to Hanover Street School!
  • many churches come together to celebrate this time of year.

it was a lovely evening and we’re looking forward to taking part again in the future – we may even try and get on the stage!
