P6 Victorian Aberdeen Research Units

Today P6 were treated to a visit from Mr Paterson who shared several artefacts, photographs, census returns and maps from Aberdeen during the Victorian period. It was fascinating to see how Aberdeen city has changed since the 19th century but also interesting to see that some aspects of the Victorian era can still be seen in our streets today. In groups we investigated rich and poor homes, transport, crime and punishment, factory and working conditions, sport and leisure and many more! We particularly enjoyed learning how to wash and iron clothes and are very grateful for washing machines today!
