Ramadan – Part of our religious and cultural diversity at Hanover Street

Four of our pupils took the opportunity to explain what they have been doing this week, as part of their Muslim faith.

Article 14: You have the right to choose your own religion and beliefs. Your parents should help you decide what is right and wrong, and what is best for you.

Ahmed, Islam, Faiyaz and Zaid told us about fasting, as part of the Festival Ramadan – why they do it, what they do, and how they celebrate the end of it. The boys did really well, supported each other and spoke confidently.

Mr Markey then shared information about the 5 Pillars of Islam, explaining that even for those not of that faith, or for people who are not religious, the morals of good behaviour, charity work and respect are good codes to go by in everybody’s lives.

All the boys and girls then talked with a learning partner about how they behave well.

Well done, everyone!
