P6 Journey to Fairtrade

In Primary 6 we have had a very busy few weeks taking part in an Enterprise project. As we are learning about Africa, we wanted to try and raise some money to help those living in poverty.

We decided to design and make our own chocolate bars. We had to go through a voting process to decide on our favourite 3. We then designed some wrappers for the chocolate bars and voted on our favourite for each.

We have spent a busy two weeks taking orders from all the classes and staff in the school and making the chocolate bars. We had to ensure they were all wrapped carefully and labelled correctly.

We have learnt a lot about food hygiene and about advertising and selling products.

We managed to raise £230 for Mary’s Meals, which is a great charity that help children to receive a meal at schools in lots of African countries.

Thank you so much to everyone who supported us by buying some chocolate!
