As part if our Hot and Cold topic we have been learning about freezing and melting. A lot of us have been saying we wished our ice didn’t have to melt so we designed insulation for our ice!
Each group chose a material to insulate our ice with. Some groups chose tin foil, others foam, cloth or paper. Some groups even made lids to cover their ice.
We measured how much ice had melted into water to see which was most effective. All of our designs slowed down the melting process, but the material we found to be the best insulation was cotton wool.
