P1 Literacy and Language Workshop – Fri 25 November 2016

We had a super turnout for our P1 Literacy and Language Workshop.  26 parents came along to find out more about how we teach language and literacy in P1.

Miss Forbes spoke about and demonstrated talking, listening, reading, writing, spelling and handwriting and even got the parents to do some sounding out too!

The boys and girls from P1 and P7 came down to join us for a wee Bookbug celebration afterwards (more photos to follow) where they were presented with their P1 Bookbug Packs, and also a juice a bag of crisps to add to the celebration atmosphere.

Thank you to all parents who managed to come along – we really hope it helps you support your children in their learning.

The Powerpoint used is attached here for your information:  p1-curricular-workshop    and Miss Forbes will send home some useful resources (sound and common word flashcards) as was discussed in the workshop, very soon.

Daisy’s mum enjoyed the afternoon and some time away from work! Zac loved his salt and vinegar crisps! What a treat!
Kenzie enjoyed showing off her turtle mask which she made with the P7s.
Ishika’s mum stayed behind for a chat with the other mums and a cuddle and story with Ishika!
