🎶 It’s All About the Money, Money, Money 🎶
In P5, we have been exploring written and mental strategies to multiply 2 digit numbers. Today, we applied our learning in a real life situation in our ‘Sweet Shop’.
Each pupil thought carefully if they wanted to practise the strategies more, if they were ready to apply the strategies in 2 step problems, or if they were ready for a challenge and use the strategies in problems involving up to 3 different types of calculation.
Some people practised by working out how much different amounts of a certain sweets would cost then counted that out in coins. Others calculated how much it would cost altogether for certain amounts of two types of sweets while others then went on to work out how much change they would receive when paying with different amounts.
